Paint time! We are getting there!

I have officially hit my 'nesting' phase, and have agreed with Courtney it is now time to have our bedroom and our downstairs office/future playroom painted in preparation of having the house all ready for this baby boy to come along!

Today, 6/29, actually is our 6 months in our house! Can't believe it... Hopefully after this we can sit low for a while, since we have already replaced a roof, AC system, and had most rooms painted. Whew. We need a big time financial break!!

Our bedroom is a PRETTY color, Silver Sage from Restoration Hardware. http://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod116124
We also painted our bathroom this color, and it has turned out to be a soft, cool color. Looks great with our furniture and bedding.. we are getting there!

TAKE NOTE: I can not find a before picture with our furniture in it, but here is the master when it was the previous owners. We had taken down the curtains when we moved in.

And downstairs in our spare room (the old owners used it as a bedroom) which we now use as an office, future playroom we painted it a Martha Stewart color, Flagstone. http://www.homedepot.com/buy/paint/paint-samples-posters-fan-decks/martha-stewart-living/8-oz-flagstone-interior-paint-tester-msl247-79921.html
This is the last room with 'wall paper' in it! Well, a border anyways...I am sure Courtney will not miss the periwinkle walls with floral border with his NC State pictures! haha, yeah right!

It is fun to see our house coming all together! After this, we will only have 3 more rooms to paint....but those can wait as they are nice colors...2 bathrooms, and our guest room.

good bye border

Nothing set up yet, freshly painted (updated pictures to come once we set up the room)

Tuesday fun

Here are a couple shots of Emma from Tuesday afternoon/evening.

Emma found two rattles she played with when she was younger, they were my rattles when I was a baby, anyways, the past few days she likes to go get them and carry them around both in one hand

love some puzzles

After bath, we turn on the cd player and dance...she loves to dance! (holding onto the table)

Weekend fun

We had a fun, busy weekend... started off with Emma walking on Friday, so we were so happy for her that we spent watching her & cheering for her walking round the downstairs making laps for the first day! We also headed to the pool on Saturday morning. Then we headed to Sally Journigan's birthday party (Court's best friend, Jim's, daughter). Sally turned 2. It was a fun ice cream themed party.

Then on Saturday night we treated our Dad's as their Father's Day gift, to the Durham Bulls game. So my Dad & Gene came into town for the game. It was a nice time, and the weather could not have been any nicer, no humidity! My mom stayed behind to watch Emma since it was a night game...

Ready for the pool

Do you think these grandparents are loving every minute of this?!?!?!

Emma is really into smelling flowers (inside the house & outside), and like the stacking blocks, can smell flowers forever...she makes this little noise, like 'ummm' they smell so pretty every sniff she takes! ;)

Heading to Sally's birthday party

The birthday girl! Sally actually was able to blow out her candles by herself! I was impressed...

Showing off walking at party

Emma & Banks Brewer (a friend of mine from Junior League, her son. Emma is 3 weeks older than Banks)

New delicious LOVE for meat....

Typing the title of this entry sounds weird to me, but we recently have discovered the Meat House!! It is this fabulous butcher, gourmet grocery store around the corner from our house....yum yum yum! We picked up some steak tips for Fathers Day to grill, and it was absolutely delicious...just as tender a piece of fillet mignon. I had to show both of my parents the store, and my Dad even had to buy some meat to take back to Richmond to freeze! It has a huge selection of all meats, and various breads, desserts, dips, beers, wines, etc most from local vendors.

You should check out to see if there is one in your area.... We will definitely be supporting this store...

And she is OFF!!!

Emma took off in an almost jog around the kitchen on Friday afternoon! It was crazy! I was trying to get her to walk that morning, and she was not interested in it much then when we got back from errands she just took off! It was wild. I am so proud of her....... Here is a clip of one of her first 'walks'! ;)

Also, here are some pictures from the 'walking day'. She is carrying around her FAVORITE toy, her stackable cups and bucket. She would sit there for probably an hour and stack and unstack, and load and unload the blocks!

My mom was lucky enough to see the 'walk' as she was there helping me with Emma for the afternoon while I worked from home.

Stack stack

Can walk and carry cups at the same time!

New kitchen blinds

We were in much need of some blinds in our kitchen/breakfast nook bay window. We have this beautiful window, which pours in tons of wonderful sunshine, but it is HOT in the summer! We now understand why the previous owners had thick curtains there. We picked these up at Lowes, and Courtney installed them. They really look nice, and make a big difference in the temperature of the room. As you can see, Emma was checking it all out! It has now become a new daily routine of pulling the blinds...
