Cornhole & Cookout

We invited our friends over for a little cookout to see Meredith & family. It was such a fun afternoon. It was kid central at our house, but it was fun! Emma was on cloud nine with all the excitement of kids everywhere!!! Court had made some NC State Cornhole boards for Meredith & Peter's visit. We had played it with them at their house last summer.

Shannon, Maason & Luke Byers (Shannon just had Luke, he was 1 month old today!)

The Day with Meredith, Peter & Will

We started off our day with some yummy breakfast at Big Ed's!! We had our Rehersal dinner at Big Ed's in downtown Raleigh. It is so neat, and delicious...and we love it, as it has the same staff working there for years. We even saw our same waitress who worked our Rehersal dinner, and she always comes over to say hey and to see Emma.

We all left full and happy... We headed over to the North Hills Farmers Market (same one where I picked up Emma's veggies). That was fun, as Will got to run around and play with some of the other children and dance to the Blue Grass band playing. With the excitement of Big Ed's, Emma did not take her morning nap. But did pass out in the car ride as we were pulling out of the parking lot!

The Gorentz Family Comes to Visit!!!!

My childhood best friend, Meredith, and her husband (Peter) & Will (our Godson) came for the weekend to meet Emma!! We took lots of pictures and had the BEST TIME together!!! Friday we just hung out at the house, and enjoyed catching up with each other! It was so special for Meredith & Peter to meet Emma, and so wonderful seeing our absolutely precious Godson. Emma & Will were so funny together, instant friends actually. :)

My Mom was stayed in town (at my Grandparents house) the remaining part of the week after I got back from my work trip so she could see Meredith, Peter & meet Will for the first time.

Mom headed to New York again, So Emma hung out with SuSu

I had a TWO day work trip, my longest I have ever been away from Emma. I was soooo glad to get home!!! Although, it was a good, fast trip. We had day time meetings and a press event that evening, so it flew by...so between that, and the great meals, and the nice hotel (at the W) it made it nice.

It was so hard to leave her, but I know I left her in great hands... My mom came the first day/night, and she & Court had Emma and then Pam came for the next afternoon to help Courtney. And our mom's cleaned our house!! Talk about a WONDERFUL treat to come home too. Here are a few cute pictures my Mom took while I was gone.

Solid Foods, Yum Yum!

Emma & I headed up to our neighborhood Farmers' Market in the North Hills shopping area. It is about a mile walk, and turned out to be a fun morning...starting my getting my favorite Starbucks treat, the Pumpkin Spice Latte!!!!!!!! YUM!! It is one of my most favorite things of the Fall season! Emma & I strolled around and picked up some veggies, and headed home. After all the excited of the market, she was fast asleep by the time we got home.

I have a food processor, so I am trying out making some food for Emma. Our first food was sweet potatoes. I had to mix in some cereal, she likes it that way. Her faces are priceless!! And she kept on wanting more. We are having to learn balance in between adding in her food and still getting in enough milk. She has been getting full from all her veggies.

Off on our walk up to the North Hills Farmer's Market
