7 months old today!!

Emma is now 7 months old!!! I tried to weigh her, and we think she is 16.5 or so pounds and around 27 inches long. She is TOO cute... She is going to be a little ham I think, she likes having her picture taken. Oh lord, is what I should be thinking?! ;)

Lets see, right now she is now putting everything in her mouth, about to start crawling - can sort of do it, but hasn't taken off yet... loves anything with a tag, and her baby Huggums and Victoria, laughs all the time - everything and everyone is funny. She she now eating solids for almost a month, the peas are still her favorite. The only thing that really makes her cry, is when she see's someone wearing glasses - it is odd, sometimes it phases her and other times not.

I put Emma down in the grass today, and her reaction was priceless!! She wasn't sure about it at first, but did not cry and then liked feeling it after a minute or so. Was waving her hand over the blades, it was so darling....

Birthday for Me

I had a great birthday yesterday, thank you so much from each of you for all the calls, emails, texts, etc. I had an 'okay' day at work, but it was nice because Courtney & I got to have a lunch date! It is such a treat to be able to see him now at work, and better yet have lunch with him!

My day consisted of after work I met up with my friend Anna B. & Kate at a Jewelry party, TWO pumpkin spice latte's, a bday celebration at work, and got to get some good lovin' in with Emma & a quiet evening in with Court. Courtney made the rest of the night great: flowers, wine, and by cooking dinner (and he even did the dishes)! Followed by watching some girly shows! What a great day! Here are a few pictures from today of us (taken from our phone camera - so the quality is not the best).

Can't believe Emma is 7 months tomorrow!!!

Early Birthday Celebration for Mommy

My parents came to town to see Emma & help celebrate my birthday!! It was such a nice visit, and my parents are always so great helping us around the house too! Mom & I got some errands run on Saturday, and we made a DELICIOUS shrimp & grits dinner (thank you, dick, for the grits - they were incredible!!) which is my very favorite, followed by my favorite dessert - lemon chess pie (Westhampton bakery in Richmond). My parents game me pillows for our den couch. We had been looking for fabric for a while now, and found this NEAT fabric & mom made them. (you will see one of the pillows in the picture below of my Dad & Gampa)

Sunday morning, we had to keep the good food coming...so we made my favorite breakfast, pumpkin pancakes, sausage & pumpkin coffee! Can you tell I love some pumpkin dishes this time of the year... We headed to church, and Emma was so good. I think all the folks who sat behind us, did not hear much of the homily that day!! Emma was the center of attention for sure.

That afternoon, Cuckoo & Gampa came over for an early dinner and to celebrate. It was nice, and fun for all of us to be together (as it had been since August at Colby's wedding - last time).

What a FACE! Love it!

Saturday - Day of Playing

We played and played today! Emma still loves to every now and then play on her activity mat. It is just unbelievable to me how much she has changed since we first started her on the mat. She now can manipulate the toys with her feet, and pulls everything down...compared to just looking up and not being able to reach a few months ago.

We got a little 'free bird' time in also today... she was all over the bed, posing for the camera

Loves some play mat time

Had to wear our socks for the NC State game (too bad we lost!)

The girl loves anything with a tag

Wow, it feels so good to be free!!

On the move

Absolutely love her smile!
