Emma's first day at Preschool / 18 months old today!!!

It was a BIG day today in the Bass house for Emma! Emma turned 18 months old today, can't believe my girl is a year & a half!! She is still my sweet baby girl in my eyes, and I guess will always be... I have been a little worried about this day, hoping that Emma handles this well. She has been dealt a lot of 'change' lately between Stokes being born, having to share Mommy, going to Libby's only two days a week now, and now heading to school for the first time.

Courtney is taking (will be taking both kids once I go back to work) Emma to school, Monday, Wednesday & Friday as I mentioned in an earlier post at 8:00 on his way to work. Courtney said Emma had a melt down when he dropped her off, exactly what I was afraid of......BUT when I went to pick her up, she was running around playing in the room, and had a fantastic day. Thankfully the tears only lasted a few minutes. Her two teachers said she played real well, and was so proud of herself a few times & played with the other kids. When I got to the room to pick her up, I set Stokes down in his car seat, and the kids ran up to see the baby, and Emma showed him off - it was so cute!!

We are heading into our 18 month appointment tomorrow, so I will report in on her progress tomorrow!

Emma slept a 3 1/2 hour nap when we got home!!!

Slumber Party!!!!

Two of my best friends (and old roommates) came to Raleigh to stay for a slumber party on Friday night! Actually my friends, Bess, Hunter & Stuart all planned the get together for last weekend, but very sadly hurricane Irene cancelled/post-poned our plans out a week. So Stuart and her twin girls (who are Emma's age) could not come, but Hunter & her daughter, Hayden (11 months) & Bess & her son, Ros (4 months) came. (Hunter is living in Houston & Bess is in Edenton) It was such a fun time!! A little chaotic with all the little ones, but we all helped one another/they helped me!....

Our friends, Shannon & Katherin also came over to visit.

We really need to plan these visits much more often. It was so nice to be able to hang out, have our kids together, catch up and make memories! As you can see in the pictures, the boys were so happy & laid back and the girls, were girls!!!!

Visit with Cuckoo & Gampa

One of my best friend's, Anna Bedford, sadly lost her mother last week to lukemia and I went to the funeral in Lexington. Mrs. King was such a neat lady, and will be missed very much.

Thankfully my Mom was in town as they did not have power in Richmond (from hurricane Irene). So mom was able to watch the kids so I could go to the service. We headed to Fearrington for their first visit, so the kids (Emma) could play with Cuckoo & Gampa (and my mom had some extra help!).

Here are some pictures from the day.

Little exhausted, fit time......
