Bass Family Blog: Blakewood Drive - House we are buying!!!!

So, we were not planning on looking for a house and are very happy in our wonderful home. But one day on a walk this summer, I saw one of my favorite houses in the neighborhood was up for sale. Well, it was priced too high for us so I dreamt and dismissed the idea. BUT...then this Fall the house dropped in price by nearly $25,000and with a little calculations of a monthly mortgage payment (the mortgage rates are at record lows, we were locked in at 4%!!!)...we were in the ball park! So as soon as I got home from my walk, I called Courtney (who was playing golf that day in Rocky Mount) and told him when he came home we were going to an Open House (there happened to be an Open house that same day). Well needless to say, we loved it! It screamed potential, and needs some updates here and there aka removing wall paper in a few rooms, etc but we knew we wanted to move forward. After a night of two with big talks, we decided to call a friend of mine who is an Agent, and she came over and we listed our house with her and put an Contingent Offer based on the sale of our house on the house on Blakewood Drive. Little did we know that our house was going to get an offer so quickly, and it was sold! All really seems to be lining up as if it really must be meant-to-be! We did go look at some other houses in the area/neighborhoods close by, and this is the one by far! It is in great shape, and just needs a little uplifting - nothing that myself and my Mom can't handle!! It is such a great house, and we really hope all works out with the purchase.
