Bass & Cleavenger's

We headed up to Richmond after our trip to Nashville to surprise SuSu. Dad threw Mom a surprise 60th birthday party, a month after her actual birthday. Boy, was she surprised. Courtney drove up after work and met us, and also Colby flew up as a surprise. It was a fun time, and Emma was the hit of the party!!!

The next day, we went on the Garden Tour (the tour of homes in Richmond). Emma was so wonderful, and slept nearly the entire time! We also went to go meet our friend, Stuart, and her twin girls....Kendall and Bennett (who are three weeks younger than Emma). They were born 4 weeks early, so they are tiny compared to Emma!

Such a fun teddy bear!

Today Emma got to meet her great-grandparents, Cuckoo & Gampa. Gampa is her only great-grandfather. Lucky Emma, has FOUR great-grandmothers!! Cuckoo & Gampa were in Long Boat Key, FL when Emma was born (Cuckoo had been sick), so they got to meet Emma for the first time at 6 weeks when they got back to NC. We even went out for ice cream!

New Teddy Bear from Peggy Murray. It is so fun, and girly with the tutu!

Week Five

So sweet, sleeping with Daddy...

One of my favorite pictures.....

What a sweet face...

Look at my big girl dress.

Emma

Emma is getting even more sweet every day...and so much more responsive. She loves her baths. AND the best thing about this week, was Emma started smiling this week on Monday! Talk about making your heart melt... she now smiles all the time!

In the pictures you will see Emma had a big week, with everyone in town for the baptism, visited both my work and Court's, and met her great-grandparents for the first time (today - those pictures to come). More pictures to follow........

Emma's baptism was held at Chirst Church in Raleigh. The same church where Courtney & I were married. Emma wore the same baptismal gown that both my Mom & I wore as babies at our baptisms. So it was very special to see Emma sharing the tradition.... Emma was SOOOO good during the service!! She was an angel!! She did not make a peep the entire service! We had asked Colby & Robyn to be here God Parents, so they came up from Atlanta for the weekend.

It was such a special day being surrounded by family and some friends, and lots of love! God certainly was with Emma and our family on Sunday! As you can see, we also had some fun back at the house after the Baptism!

Nana, Mama (Court's grandmother) & Emma - Our first lunch outing!!

It is so hard to believe that Emma is already one month old today! It has been the most incredible month!!!!!! And is going by too quickly.... Both Courtney and I are absolutely so in love with our sweetest girl. She is so alert and is so strong, the way she can hold her head up. Here are some pictures from this week, and I apologize for not getting pictures of all our family and friends that have visited us. Emma got to meet another one of her great-grandmothers's, her great-Mama! She is so lucky to have FOUR great-grandmothers! We had our first lunch outing with Pam/Nana, Dana, and Mama. Then my parents came down and went to church with me and Emma today (for a trial run for the baptism next weekend), and Emma was an angel...slept through most of the service! Lets hope she is just as good next Sunday at her baptism! Emma also attended her first birthday party, and managed to sleep through the whole thing! ha Just if she could sleep like that at night...
